Dance is an art form that often expresses our most joyous celebrations as human beings living in community. We dance as a community of families and friends at weddings. We dance with those we have come to love. We dance on the way home to tell about our new job. Have you considered that we dance because God loves dance as well?
Here is an old, English traditional carol,
Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day . In addition to reading it, take a moment to listen to this
beautiful rendition of the carol.

In the carol Christ dances for us, his beloved, from the manger to the right hand of the Father. Is there indeed something we can learn about God’s love for us through the art form of dance that we may not very well understand were there no dancing? What might that be? If possible bring to your response your own experience with dance either as something you watched or as something you did. You might also want to think through these
passages in Scripture which refer to dance.
