Monica and Bob currently work as Junior Accountants at Parker Electric and have both applied for the coveted Senior Accountant position that requires a Masters Degree. Monica has a Masters Degree and Bob is one year from completing his Master’s Degree but he is very qualified for the job and assisted the hiring manager in writing the job description. Bob performed these duties at his previous employer. Bob feels if one can excel with the job responsibilities, a degree does not matter. Therefore, based on this belief, Bob applied for the job and listed he had obtained his Masters Degree. Bob was promoted to Senior Accountant and is excelling in his new role. Because the company is performing stronger due to Bob, does an ethical issue or issues exist.
