Instructions:
Students will complete a writing assignment, 1-2 pages long, by answering the
following question. These questions should be researched, cited, and turned in as a “FORMAL
WRITTEN ASSIGNMENT”. Students are to use: size 12 Times New Roman Font, utilize the
APA writing format, citation structure, work cited page etc. I will only accept assignments that
have been completed, on-time, and uploaded through the student portal.
1) Read, both, the Texas Republican Party’s Platform and the Texas Democratic Party’s
Platform. Compare and contrast the two platforms. Describe the socio-economic,
political, ideological, and cultural highpoints of both platforms. Identify the three to five
of the most important “planks” in the platforms and why you believe to be important.
